Set Presentation

From the design of the box to the instruction manual, these are the first things you see before building the set.

Whenua is possibly one of the most greatest sets you could possibly have.
Despite only being 48 pieces, it still is a great set to own or play with.
It's Rhotuka rests on his back, where you slot the rip cord and WHAM! You pull rip cord fast enough it sends the Rhotuka flying high enough into the air.

From the slightly thin canister, you can guess surprises await you. At first sight already, the top of the canister has a place where you can rest your Rhotuka.
Whenua is good for weapons. He's got the Rhotuka and two of his Thumpers, which makes him pretty dangerous in reality.

Building the set

Half the fun is had building the set. How fun is it to build and how easy or challenging is it?

So I finally got a Second-Hand Whenua Hordika from my friend. I have been anxious to get him, and it was a mystery what set he was going to give me till he gave a vivid description that fit Whenua. He's built already, oh well.

Set Design

Now that the set is complete, we can critique how it looks from every angle. New or interesting pieces can also be examined here.

This set is as promising is it looks. This is not my actual picture, but these pictures were the best I could get off the internet.
Does this seem great to you.
I think it should.

The other half of the fun is in playing with the set. How well does the set function and is it enjoyable to play with?

Hmmm.... Whenua has 11 points of articulation. Not bad. The left arm is not very good. The way it is designed is so that there is no elbow point, which makes it sort of hard to move it around. like most of the Hordika, Whenua has an arm not necessarily elbow-jointed. Like most arms you can fling it around, but the elbow is different. There are gears on the arm you can move around that makes the elbow go up. Interesting. Everything else is the same, except for the internal head design. No Metru or Mata head at all. Ah, reminds me back in 2005 when I owned Vakama Hordika. Since I got it second-handly, I didn't get the Rhotuka rip cord.

Final Thoughts/Overall

I would really recommend this set to someone else. Like a 9 out of 10 greatness. Now go get it off BZP B/S/T. =P
